Species Notes:
Procumbens nana is a cold-hardy ground juniper well-suited to bonsai. It tolerates a wide range of sun conditions and pruning techniques, including wiring and aggressive root work when healthy. Foliage is dense and compact, with natural movement in the trunk and branches that responds well to training. Hardy to zone 5. Requires a winter dormancy—should be kept outdoors year-round. In colder climates, place on the ground and mulch around the pot to protect roots from deep freezes.
